Day 15: These Are My Confessions

Today I intended to catch you up on the past few years. Unfortunately there are more pressing matters to disclose.

Last night I (a) got really drunk and (b) made terrible food choices…twice.

Here’s how it went down:

My fave neighbor ever, Stephenie, and I decided to hit up local McDonoughs Bar for some drinks and karaoke. I didn’t really plan on getting college-style-drunk but I didn’t really plan on not getting drunk either.  I made the mistake of requesting a “yummy and potent” shot upon our arrival which we proceeded to order several more times. I couldn’t even describe the shot to you…not because I don’t remember, just because I couldn’t really pinpoint any of the ingredients.. It was just some 4 oz. delicious concoction that was exactly what I had requested.

We had a great time and met some fun people including a guy with a fedora who was a total doppelganger of one of my friends from high school days. If you’re wondering how drunk I was, I was almost drunk enough to actually sing (fyi: love singing….terrified of karaoke). The only thing that stopped me was not having a good karaoke song on lock. Song suggestions are encouraged as well as money to fund the necessary level of drunkenness for me to approach the mic. Thank you in advice for your support.

I hadn’t really had dinner that night so we ordered an appetizer platter. Pretty much everything was fried or covered in cheese, or was actually fried cheese. Certainly a cleanse foul-but that wouldn’t be my last  foul of the night. As things died down at McDonoughs we planned to go out dancing (if you recall Rule #7 from Friday’s post, you know that dancing is a very good way to counteract the prior and future bad decisions of the night).

Somehow how we ended up at McDonalds instead and I ended up with a chicken nugget meal. Thank goodness the ice cream machine was down for maintenance.

Today I woke up with a hangover and a craving for more junk food. I haven’t given into the craving mostly because I’m still really dehydrated. It is not so much an act of willpower as it is a consequence of the quite rational fear that I will die of thirst if I consume another milligram of sodium.

How do you recover when you fall off the health wagon? What do you recommend to resolve my dehydration issue?

Haha! You crack me up. Nights like that happen. Chalk it up to a fun time and move on. My weakness is Waffle House – reminds me of PC! Try some coconut water for the dehydration and a hot bath with ginger to sweat it out.
